OUR STORY
A name gifted by
the Zulu people
“Zinkwazi” — a Zulu word meaning Fish Eagle — perfectly captures the spirit of this wild and untouched coastal village in KwaZulu-Natal. Cradled between the warm Indian Ocean, a sheltered tidal lagoon, and ancient dune forests, Zinkwazi has remained beautifully unchanged while the world rushed on.
Just 70km north of Durban, it is a place where osprey circle at dawn, dolphins play at sunset, and the pace of life moves with the rhythm of the tides. This is South Africa’s coast as it was always meant to be.
